Interior designer André Fu was tasked with the responsibility of transforming part of a private member’s club on Wellington Street, Hong Kong into an exclusive pop-up apartment spanning 3,500-sq-ft for fashion powerhouse Louis Vuitton.
The grand set-up was furnished with a study, boudoir, living and dining areas, complete with a Michelin-starred chef.
Stealing all the limelight is the dining room, where Fu’s bespoke ceiling lights pay homage to the luxury label by casting a subtle LV glow when switched on.
Named ‘L’Appartement Hong Kong’, which is also Fu’s first brand collaboration, the invite-only space runs till 16 October 2014.
“I was intrigued by the intellectual exercise of creating something that offers an emotional experience despite it being a temporary construct,” says Fu, “I'm much more interested in creating a holistic experience than focusing on objects, so for me it was more about creating a sense of purity and place.”
