Virgin America Challenges Passengers’ Patience In Clever Campaign

Earlier this week, we wrote about ‘The Longest Ad In The World’.

Hopping onto this trend is Virgin America with its newly released video clocking in at close to six hours.

Titled ‘Have You Been Flying BLAH Airlines?’, the video mimics the entire duration of a real-life flight and the monotony of being trapped inside a plane, with amenities that are far from enjoyable.

The campaign is also complete with a mock website and various social media channels.

Epitomizing its rival air carriers with fictitious ‘BLAH Airlines’, Virgin told Adweek, “The passengers have no choice but to be on ‘autopilot’ to get through the tedious journey. Just trying to watch the video is downright painful—and that’s the point. If you wouldn’t sit through the entire film, why would you pay money to experience it in real life?”
