Singer will.i.am from American hip hop group Black Eyed Peas has launched his own line of voice-controlled smart wristbands, which could possibly replace your smartphones.
Called ‘Puls’, which is pronounced as “pulse”, the cuff-like device lets you make calls, send texts messages, check your social networks like Facebook and Twitter, and play music.
Unlike most smart wristbands, Puls does not need to be paired with a smartphone to work—the device connects to a cellular network instead, and has a continuous battery life of approximately five hours.
One notable feature of the smart wristband is its digital assistant called ‘Aneeda’, which could rival Apple’s Siri.
Together with the engineering team at his own technology company i.am+, will.i.am took over two and a half years to create the wearable device.
Prices and release dates for the device are not announced yet. According to will.i.am, Puls could go on sale just in time for the holiday season.
