It seems like 3D-printed prosthetics modeled after superheroes are trending among designers and creators alike.
Following the Wolverine prosthetic hand that we featured earlier, mechanical engineer Pat Starace has created an awesome 3D-printed Iron Man prosthetic hand that can help children perform simple tasks like picking up and grasping objects.
Similar to Tony Stark’s iconic Iron Man suit, the palm of the prosthetic has a glowing thruster, while the back of the hand has a gold shield that houses hand-activated LED ‘lasers’.
With his creation, Starace hopes to raise the self-esteem of children to “super hero levels”. For more information, head over to his project page.
