Designers Štefan Nosko and Katarína Beličková from Slovakia-based studio MEJD have designed a unique lamp that is inspired by the mechanism of traditional water wells.
The brightness of the Well lamp can be adjusted by winding its wooden handle, similar to those found in water wells.
When the bulb is lowered into the lamp’s glass container, the light produced by the bulb is obscured by the container’s frosted exterior, hence producing a dimmer light.
