Google’s Interactive Times Square Billboard Is Broadway’s Largest Ever

Google has installed a massive interactive billboard in Times Square, said to be the largest ever on the iconic neon-lit intersection.

Spanning an entire city block, the billboard is located at 1535 Broadway between 45th and 46th streets, and measures 77.69 feet by 329.65 feet.

It is powered by a Mitsubishi Electric large-scale display, boasting an incredible pixel density of 2,368 x 10,048 that far exceeds the standard 4K display resolution by 15 million pixels.

Not only is it Times Square’s biggest billboard, it is “the largest digital billboard in North America,” said a Clear Channel spokesperson to Mashable.

The billboard is scheduled to go live on Monday and will feature an interactive Android game playable to the public until Tuesday, 9pm. Visitors will also be able to create customized Androidify characters printed on T-shirts and postcards.

It will devote media space to non-profit organizations like the World Wide Fund for Nature and Charity Water, alongside ads for its own products.

New York City residents, would you pay a visit to this giant billboard?
