Watch: Men Explain Why They Catcall Women On The Street

Following the recent series of videos that showed us how women on the streets of New York City are harassed by catcalling everyday, the Marabigo video team and Gothamist, went around asking men why they do it.

Deputy director Debjani Roy of harassment-fight initiative Hollaback!, tells Gothamist that men are more daring to catcall now because it is seen as something normal “in a culture that is patriarchal and misogynistic and has taught women and girls to deal with it”.

In the video, some men said that they feel that it is their right to comment when they see a woman dressed in tight fitting clothes.

What do you think about this?
