Italian designer and father Matteo Ragni wanted to give children the possibility to love a toy, by creating toys that were lasting and meaningful—so he launched the project ‘TobeUs’.
‘100% TobeUs: 100 designers for 100 new cars’ is a collection where 100 Italian designers each had to hand make a toy car out of a one-size block of wood.
The wood used was cedar of Lebanon, a strong and sweet-scented wood—and the cars’ wheels used mahogany, a wood with a nice grain.
Each of the designers interpreted ‘toy cars’ in their own way to create unique vehicles.
