Interactive LED Installation In Hospital Calms Children Before Operation

To help calm and distract children before operations, London-based lighting design house Jason Bruges Studio has designed an interactive LED installation for a children’s hospital.

Installed in the Great Ormond Street hospital, ‘Nature Trail’ serves as a way to “brighten [the children’s] journey to the operating theatre”.

The hospital walls have been turned into an interactive LED projection that portrays a digital forest—depicting various forest creatures such as horses, deers and birds to distract young patients before they enter the operating theatre.

The installation consists of 70 LED panels and a total of 72,000 LED lights.
