American brewing company Anheuser-Busch—which owns brands such as Budweiser and Bud Light—has recently appointed actor-musician Justin Timberlake as the Creative Director for its Bud Light Platinum brand.
“Justin Timberlake is one of the greatest creative minds in the entertainment industry, and his insights will help us further define Bud Light Platinum’s identity in the lifestyle space,” said Paul Chibe, the VP of Anheuser-Busch’s US Marketing.
“Partnering with Justin as he makes his return to music brings a new level of relevance and credibility to the brand,” he added.
According to Timberlake—who also co-owns the recently revamped MySpace—he said that the brand “brings a refined, discerning aesthetic to beer that plays well” with what he’s doing and is planning to bring in other musicians to the forefront as well.
Recently, BlackBerry named singer Alicia Keys as its Global Creative Director.
Will we see more musicians and singers as ‘creative directors’ in companies in the future?
