After the success of The Pop-Up Pinhole Project, London-based artist Kelly Angood has gone back on Kickstarter to launch a new product—the VIDDY is an improved, smaller and cuter version of Angood’s first DIY cardboard camera.
Accepting both medium format and 35mm film, this “world’s cutest” pinhole camera is made with screen-printed, durable, recycled card—it is currently available in four colours, namely green, black, blue and red.
Needing virtually no glue to put together, one should take just 30 minutes to bring it from flat-pack to functioning camera. In addition to the cardboard for its body, the VIDDY kit also includes a reclaimed medium format spool, a red light-proof window, split pins and a customisable sticker sheet.
Early testers who took the VIDDY for a spin report good image quality and a clever design that makes it suitable even for children who are just starting to learn about cameras and photography.
