In light of the 2014 Reebok CrossFit games, the sportswear brand has launched a line of bacon.
According to Will McGinness, executive creative director at Venables Bell & Partners, who helped make this idea come to life, “Reebok wanted to engage with the CrossFit community in an authentic, memorable way. The CrossFit community loves bacon. They eat it. They talk about it. Some even wear clothes featuring it. We wanted to embrace the love of bacon and build something fun for the community, while remaining authentic to its spirit”.
All the bacon is sourced by U.S. Wellness Meats; uncured, contains no nitrates, preservatives, MSG or sweeteners. It follows the strict guidelines of the Paleo diet, a presumably ancient diet where one shuns sugar and carbohydrates, consuming mostly wild plants and animals.
The bacon was then distributed to participants before the games. There was also an onsite Bacon Box food truck that allowed the public to sample bacon dishes, such as bacon-wrapped artichoke, bacon-wrapped chorizo-stuffed dates, bacon-wrapped seasoned pork belly, and more.
Visit Reebok’s official website for more details about its bacon and its Bacon Box food truck.
