The internet is known to be a dark and hurtful place, but the following story proves that there are still good people out there in the world.
Nathen Steffel has just lost his six-weeks-old daughter to hepatic hemangioma in the liver.
Distraught with his loss, he took to Reddit with a simple favor: “My daughter recently passed away after a long battle in the children's hospital. Since she was in the hospital her whole life we never were able to get a photo without all her tubes. Can someone remove the tubes from this photo?”
What followed were many kind acts of compassion with Redditors posting their digitally altered renditions of the photo.
Touched by their outpouring of kindness, Steffel expressed his gratitude, “This is really amazing. Everyone you have made my day. All I wanted was a nice picture. What I received was a lot of love and support from a bunch of strangers. Along with a lot of great photos, drawings and paintings. Thanks everyone!”
He also said the family will hang up a few of their favorites.
