Based in Brooklyn, artist Rafael Parra Toro has come up with a paper book that lets you animate its pages by using a special technique.
The book, Pop On Op, makes use of a horizontal slider and the moiré technique to let readers animate the images in the book. This method makes use of two images with parallel lines—sliding one image over the other would animate the illustrations.
Pop On Op contains 55 geometric patterns, character designs and short funny poems that will appeal to children. Adults will enjoy learning about this technique as well.
You can help make this book a reality by pledging for it on Kickstarter.
