Pop Chart Lab has created a poster documenting 247 years of the US flag's evolution.
The poster includes all 48 flags which were incepted, noting the number of states present when the flag was used.
The star flag evolves with every new batch of states added—the current 50-star flag was only created after Hawaii joined in 1960—with Puerto Rico on its way to join the union, a new flag may be on its way.
