Birmingham-based jewelery designer Kate Gilliland makes wearable creations out of the parts of deceased animals.

Most of Gilliland’s pieces are plated in silver or precious metals. On her website, she describes her work as ‘a wondrous piece of wearable natural history, immortalised in precious metal’.

She also notes that all the animals used in her work are already dead when they are brought to her.

Through her work, she encourages people to find the beauty, and detail in nature’s animals.
