Crowd-funding platform company Kickstarter took over an old pencil factory in Brooklyn and enlisted the help of Ole Sondresen Architects to transform it into their new headquarters.
The 29,000-square-foot space is a multi-purpose building. It serves as an office to 120 Kickstarter employees and also consists of a library, theater, gallery and a green roof.
Ole Sondresen Architects also collaborated with designer Camille Finefrock to decorate the office’s interior and landscaping. The concept and theme focused largely on eco-friendliness.
A main attraction of the office is its 8,500-square-foot green roof, which is complete with a garden that can also be an area of relaxtion for employees.
The architects also cleverly designed a central glass courtyard to ensures all levels of the building get natural light and a beautiful view of a surrounding fern grove.
