Based in New York and New Zealand, designer Richard Clarkson has created the whimsical “Cloud”, an interactive smart lamp that allows users to bring a thunderstorm into their homes.
Shaped like a cumulus cloud, it is designed to mimic both the appearance and sounds of a thunderstorm—its light not only pulses to simulate lightning, but this visual display is also accompanied by the rumbling of thunder.
The lamp can either be activated with a remote control, or its motion sensors would detect when someone is in the room, prompting it to begin its unique show of light and sound.
Users can also stream music via Bluetooth with the Cloud’s powerful speaker system—its color-changing lights would then adapt to produce the desired color and brightness.
You can purchase the Cloud here—or watch the video below to see it in action.
