In Central Otago, New Zealand, the Cadrona Bra Fence has become an unofficial tourist attraction with hundreds of bras attached to it.
It all started in year 1999 when four bras were attached to the wire fence—the number of bras attached to it started increasing as the years went by. Several attempts by the local Council to remove it was futile.
The Bra Fence had about 7,400 bras on it in 2006, raising over $10,000 for charity—however, the bras have been completely removed since July 2014.
