This Useful Guide To Font Pairing Helps You Make Happy Typographic Marriages

Guy Kawasaki, the “chief evangelist” of online design tool Canva, has created “The Ultimate Guide to Font Pairing”, which was recently published on Canva’s blog, accompanied by the words of the company’s Graphic Design Lead Poppie Pack.

This guide features a little glossary of typographic terms that would be helpful for those who are not professional designers, but would like to try their hands at putting together good-looking typographic images.

Consisting of four examples that show you “how to make your designs beautiful, with simple and effective type application”, it provides useful explanations about why some fonts work well in certain situations.

For instance, san serif fonts are more legible when used over images, while contrasting typefaces—round and narrow—can create a pleasing contrast when placed together.
