While goth is typically associated with a dark, eerie aesthetic, photographer Annie Collinge has managed to present the subculture in a refreshing light.
In her new project ‘Whitby Gothic’, Collinge visited the annual goth weekend held at Whitby, a British seaside town, to capture the revelers during their celebrations.
Despite the seemingly dark costumes and heavy make-up worn by the goths, Collinge managed to produce soft portraits of them posing on the streets and at graveyards while still shrouding them in an air of mystery.
