Vibrant 'BookBenches' Painted With Images From Iconic British Stories

The UK's National Literacy Trust and Wild in Art have launch an innovative initiative to raise the literacy level in the country.



The project, titled “Books about Town”, fills the streets of London with eye-catching benches shaped like open books—they are designed by local artists and illustrators, based on iconic books and stories that is associated with London.



These designs showcase stories such as, Mary Poppins, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, Pride And Prejudice, and Sherlock Holmes.



On the “Books about Town” website, visitors can find downloadable trail maps leading them to the location of these benches, along with the artists' profiles and information about the BookBench.
