We have previously featured the rice paddy art of Inakadate village in Japan’s Aomori Prefecture. This year, the farmers have come up with more of these awesome “paintings”.
Called ‘tanbo art’, these larger-than-life portraits are created with the help of many people. Sometimes, the entire village co-operates to finish one.
Zones are demarcated and different parts of the field are dyed to bring out the color in each “painting”.
The village has done this since 1993, and has attracted many visitors around the world to view these works of art.
