French Industrial Designer Pays Homage To Eames With This Shoe Concept For Nike

French industrial designer Ora-Ïto, known for his iconic work for Swatch, Heineken and Davidoff has designed ‘Nikeames’, a concept Nike sneaker created as a tribute shoe to Charles and Ray Eames.

Taking inspiration from the essential Eames piece, the Eames Lounge 670 chair, Ora-Ïto pays homage to the iconic chair with a shoe design, imagined as if it were for sportswear giant, Nike.

Ora-Ïto’s design comprises of a thin rubber sole, a Gore-Tex sock as the base, and a thinly lacquered plywood that constructs a shell-like case around the sock.
