Hot Dog
Texas-born visual artist Peter Augustus makes us have second thoughts about giving in into our guilty fast food indulgences like burgers, hot dogs, and chicken nuggets in his project, ‘Mystery Meat’.
Augustus, currently based in Hong Kong, featured various popular Western dishes in its “natural” form. He cheekily replaced burger patties with a pork snout, while chicken feet were arranged together with a plate of nuggets.
Perhaps, Augustus wanted viewers to be more conscious about what they eat, and to be informed about how their food looked like before it was processed into shaped, breaded, and fried pieces of “meat”.
