As part of this year’s Philly Tech Week, a certain university professor at Drexel University by the name of Dr Frank Lee created the world’s largest game of Tetris, with blocks descending from the horizon.

Dr Lee hacked a flat, 29-storey skyscraper and covered it with internet-connected Philips Color Kinetics LED lights, on both sides of the building, allowing for two-player Tetris challenge to take place.

To play the game, players use joysticks connected to laptops that send signals over a 4G wireless hotspot to an internal server inside the building’s network. These signals are responsible for when each LED light illuminates and moves.

The result is a simple execution of the beloved game of Tetris, beautifully brought to life with technology.
