A Hotel That Is Less About Sleeping, More About Art

In Amsterdam, a new kind of hotel experience has emerged—Hôtel Droog is a one-stop hospitality experience where one can come for food and drinks, curated shopping, art exhibitions, beauty advice, strolls in manicured gardens, lectures, and even a bed for the night.

Housed in a 17th century building in the heart of Amsterdam, this action-packed hotel only has one bedroom, as it focuses on the different services that a hotel can provide.

“The concept of a hotel has been reversed. Whereas a hotel is usually mostly about sleeping, here we have enlarged and emphasized all the aspects that many hotels also offer and made them central to the hotel experience—and it even has a room to sleep in,” says Renny Ramakers, co-founder and director of Droog.

The rates at Hôtel Droog start from just €200 a night.
