German conceptual artist Wolfgang Laib carefully harvests pollen from the areas surrounding his home and studio in southern Germany, and uses them to create visually arresting installation art.

For his latest exhibition at New York’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), he has created his largest pollen artwork to date—titled ‘Pollen from Hazelnut’, the piece measures 18-feet by 21-feet.

The artist also uses natural materials, such as rice and beeswax, to create luminous fields of patterns and colours, which allow people to interact with nature in a different manner.

‘Pollen from Hazelnut’ will be displayed at MoMA’s Donald B. and Catherine C. Marron Atrium until 11 March 2013.
