Gorgeous Photographs Of A Couple Eloping In The Icelandic Wilderness

Wedding photographer Gabe McClintock got the craziest assignment of his career thus far when Ohio couple Sarah and Josh approached him a few months ago, asking if he would be available to fly to Iceland to shoot their elopement.

The former photojournalist, who has six years of wedding photography experience under his belt, was all set to document their wedding in Ohio when he received the request.

Having dreamt of visiting Iceland one day, the decision to go or not was a no-brainer, and he set about arranging the logistics of the trip.

McClintock and the couple spent two days in the Icelandic wilderness, letting its majestic beauty and their sense of spontaneity take over.

“We just hopped in the car and drove. If we saw an awesome landscape or some great light, we jumped out the car and started shooting,” he said in an interview with Peta Pixel.

With the stunning Scandinavian landscape as the backdrop, the resulting images have a breathtakingly magical quality about them.

Whether silhouetted against dark, billowing clouds, rocky terrain or posing in front of cascading waterfalls, the unrivaled beauty of the surroundings create a gorgeously moody collection of photographs that both McClintock and the couple will look back on and remember for years.

Check out some photographs below and view the whole set at McClintock’s blog.

Wouldn’t you like to have an engagement or wedding shoot in a place as ruggedly beautiful as Iceland?
