What would you do if you received news that an amputation is in order for your left foot?
For Joe Pleban, he decided to embrace the last days of his left foot to its fullest and document his adventures in a Facebook page called ‘The Last Adventures of Joe’s Left Foot’.
Diagnosed with Pigmented Villonodular Synovitis in his left ankle back in 2008, he made the decision to remove his ankle after a long struggle with unsuccessful surgeries.
His sister Kaley Pleban then took to Facebook to chronicle her brother’s positive attitude to his condition, and also as a source of encouragement for him.
Pleban’s adventures include going for skydiving, paintballing and even getting a tattoo design, similar to the perforated line on coupons, at the area the amputation will be carried out.
