Documentary photographer Ettore Moni hopes to make viewers aware of the “irreversible damage” that tourism has cost nature's snow-capped mountains through his project, ‘Alps’.
As buildings and small structures start to fill the land to accommodate visitors, Moni’s photos show us how picture-perfect views of these mountains—that are not marred by signs of development—are becoming less attainable.
His work makes one wonder about the irony of high-altitude tourism: we may be able to pave more ways to allow people to enjoy the picturesque view, but preservation of these natural landscapes takes a gradual toll.
