These Extraordinary Sculptures Are Made By Bees

Beijing-based artist Ren Ri uses bees to create sculptures made up of beeswax.

Starting with a basic framework housed in a transparent polyhedron casing, he would place the queen bee in the middle of the structure. This would then allow the worker bees to begin their building work around the queen.

Every seventh day, drawing references to the biblical concept of creation, he would rotate the box to shift its gravity, where the roll of a dice determines the rotation.
