Turkish company Pugedon has devised a clever solution to tackle the country’s recycling problem, while also helping to feed the large population of stray animals.
Killing two birds with one stone, the company designed a recycling machine that dispenses food for stray animals each time a plastic bottle is deposited.
Before insertion, users are also encouraged to empty out the water in the bottles, which in turn becomes drinking water for the animals.
According to Huffington Post, the recycling machines “operate at no charge to the city, and the recycled bottles cover the cost of the food”.
