The Vienna Vegetable Orchestra performs on handcrafted instruments made from fresh vegetables.

The vegetables go through a process of drilling, cutting and slicing so as to be able to produce a wide range of sounds—they are always being recreated before each performance, lasting only for a day before they turn bad.

The orchestra have successfully transformed carrots into flutes, leeks into violin, pepper and carrot into a horn—producing a mix of exotic pitches that create an original musical experience.
