A Concept Desktop Microwave For Heating Up Your 'Sad Desk Lunch'

London-based product designer Steve Gates designed a concept desktop microwave back in 2008. It lets office workers who are unable to get away from their desk heat up their lunch right on the spot.

The concept is named ‘Brainwave’. It heats ready meals at the user’s desk. This is powered through a C8 port connected to the main electrical source, and controlled through a computer application connected via USB.

The concept also takes the food packaging into account, with the idea of making them RFID savvy so that the oven recognizes what the meal is and its appropriate heating level and time required.
