Redesign concepts are all the rage—just check out these recent creative and innovative examples from designers eager to showcase their skills and ideas.
Swedish designer Pontus Wellgraf, who previously came up with a flat design concept for Facebook, has envisioned a simple, more user-friendly interface for photo-messaging app Snapchat.
"With a passion for sharing moments, I decided to re-work this app and fix things that I found unclear and add what is unconsidered," said Wellgraf of his project.
He revamped how snaps are displayed by creating individual tabs labeled ‘All’, ‘Received’ and ‘Sent’, instead of presenting everything on a single page, resulting in a neater layout.
He also improved the chat feature to make it easier for users to follow every action, leave a comment on their last snap, and start a conversation.
Sharing photos is made easier; a control panel of actions appears after a picture is taken, with the ability to adjust the time, save it to the phone, and add to a story or sketch.
The user-friendly makeover extends to contact lists—contacts are divided into ‘All friends’, ‘Favorites’ and ‘Just added’, with the ability to create new groups. Users can also start a chat or send a snap quickly by tapping a name.
Finally, Wellgraf created individual user profiles containing information, icons and quick actions at a glance, a feature that the app currently lacks.
