Every Sunday, This Stylist Gives Free Haircuts To The Less Fortunate

“Every human life is worth the same.”

With that as a mantra, New York-based hair stylist Mark Bustos provides free haircuts to the less fortunate on the streets every Sunday.

Bustos has been carrying out this practice since 2012 after a family visit to Philippines, where he’d rent a chair from a barbershop and gave impoverished children there free haircuts.

The feeling of doing good was so gratifying that he extended his services in Jamaica, Costa Rica and Los Angeles.

He then decided to bring the act of goodwill back to New York, where he would tell a less fortunate, “I want to do something nice for you today,” before proceeding to give a haircut.

And this is how Bustos would spend every Sunday, cutting hair for up to six individuals.

He told The Huffington Post that he purposefully provides his haircuts in open spaces or areas where there are a lot of human traffic, so that his good deed can inspire others to pay it forward and be kind to those who are not as fortunate.
