A rock formation naturally shaped like a tall breaking ocean wave can be found in Hyden Wildlife Park in Perth, Western Australia.
The impressive wave rock stands at 14 meters high and 110 meters long, it forms part of a hill, known as the “Hyden Rock”—a wall and dam were constructed above the rock to collect rainwater into the storage dam for the original settlers who resided in this small town.
It was said that water erosion and weathering caused the rock to form the hollow granite domes 60,000,000 years ago, and the minerals in the rock during a wet season adds contrasting stripes to its structure.
