Photographer Joel Tretin, a self-confessed “failed stand-up comedian”, makes you take a second look at New York City in his photo series, ‘Stranger in Paradox’.
Tretin tricked his viewers by inserting subtle visual jokes in the city’s roads, buildings and pedestrians, making the city look stranger that usual.
Instead of capturing New York City and its iconic streets and landmarks, Tretin used Photoshop to manipulate the city into hilarious scenes that show cars being stacked on top of each other in a single parking lot, cars whizzing past witty road signs, and a down-riding escalator that extends into a spine-tingling roller coaster maze.
