Vintage Black-And-White Glass Portraits Restored Into Colorful, Whimsical Photos

For her project ‘Dancing with Costica’, photographer Jane Long found herself browsing through the thousands of black-and-white glass portraits stored in the Costica Acsinte archive on Flickr Commons, looking for images that she could work her magic with.

Long told PetaPixel that she was fascinated with the vintage portraits when she first stumbled upon them.

“I wanted to bring them to life. But more than that I wanted to give them a story,” Long said.

Her skilled retouching and restoring work turned Acsinte's vintage portraits into lovely digitized and colored photos that resemble whimsical pieces of art, making you wonder about the stories that Long wishes to portray in these revamped photos.
