Living Maps Of The World Beautifully Made With Fungi

Chilean artist Rodrigo Arteaga has created a series of world maps cultivated and shaped by fungi, titled ‘Convergence’.

These topographic maps are meticulously grown fungi that are preserved in glass containers and Petri dishes to represent life-like surface of the earth.

In another project ‘Atlas de Chile Regionalizado’, Arteaga showcases 15 glass containers that represents the 15 regions of Chile—different type of filamentary fungi was cut into the shape of each region and beautifully preserve in resin.

His works explores the relationship between the art and science; order and chaos.
