International architectural and design firm HASSELL has created the “Urban Coffee Farm”, a large-scale pop-up coffee farm in the middle of Australia’s Melbourne City, as a part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival 2013 (MFWF).

The Urban Coffee Farm was created to be the centerpiece for the MFWF, and aims to bring awareness to the growing, brewing and roasting processes of coffee, while utilizing a relatively untouched space on Melbourne’s South Bank.

To complete the Urban Coffee Farm experience, HASSELL used more than 120 coffee plants, shipping containers and timber pallets to create a coffee farm set-up on the red stairs in Melbourne’s Queensbridge Square.

The Urban Coffee Farm and Brew Bar is open until 17th March 2013.
