Air Freshener Made From Cow Dung

Two high school students from Indonesia have created an air freshener from cow dung.

Orange News reported that students Dwi Nailul Izzah and Rintya Aprianti Miki made the environmentally friendly fragrance from fresh cow manure.

It was said to have a “natural fragrance” of herbs and is “good for human health” because it does not contain any harmful chemicals found in other aerosol products in the market.

To create the freshener, the girls collected fresh dung from a cattle farm and left it to ferment over three days.

Next, they extracted the water from the dung and mixed it together with coconut water—after which, the mixture was distilled to remove impurities.

The end product was an air freshener with a “natural aroma of herbs from digested cow food”.
