Earlier this week, burlesque performer Dita Von Teese debuted the world’s first fully 3D-printed dress at the Ace Hotel in New York City.
The creation of designer Michael Schmidt and architect Francis Bitonti, the dress was designed entirely on the iPad and consisits of 17 unique moving pieces that are held together by 3,000 joints.
The garment’s is specially designed to move with the body of its wearer—incredibly, the hard plastic material appears to flow in a sensual manner.
Draped over Von Teese’s beautiful curves, the high-tech, perforated dress looks like something out of a sexy, futuristic movie.
