The Netherlands-based internet marketer Frank Haenen has humorously imagined what could have happened if smartphones had existed much earlier—instead of having people paint or shoot their portraits, well-know historical figures could have taken “mirror-selfies” of themselves.
Haenen digitally manipulated the portraits of several famous people—including Marilyn Monroe, Pablo Picasso and Karl Marx—, and turned them into funny mirror self-portraits.
These pictures depict pop culture and historical icons with smartphones in their hands—it is amusing to see these familiar faces indulging in one of the most popular narcissistic past-times of the internet-fuelled generation.
