London’s Battersea Power Station Reimagined As Museum With Roller Coaster

French architecture studio Atelier Zündel Cristea(AZC) has reimagined London’s decommissioned Battersea Power Station as a museum surrounded by a giant roller coaster.

The studio has envisioned a curved scaffolding structure that would weave in and around the building—which not only serves as pathways between the exhibition spaces, but also as tracks for the roller coaster to run on.

“Our aim was to imagine a new cathedral to architecture, a building that will challenge its sister structure, the Tate Modern, for international acclaim,” said the studio.

“We conceived of a double-faceted project. On one hand, a calm and contemplative interior, dedicated to the collection’s display; on the other, an exterior opening upon the surround landscape and providing breathtaking views.”

The architecture studio is known for its fun and quirky architectural designs—it previously imagined inflatable trampoline bridge in Paris.
