An Old Church Covered In Thousands Of Quirky Monochrome Portraits

French artist and photographer JR has created a large-scale exhibition of the portraits taken at his Inside Out PhotoBooth truck earlier this year.

Commissioned by Centre des Monuments Nationaux, the “Au Pantheon” exhibition is inspired by the artist's “Inside Out Project”, an initiative that allows people to have their photos taken and pasted in public spaces.

The monochrome portraits have covered both the interior and external surfaces of the church—including on the floor across the hallway, and on the dome—creating a contemporary contrast to the historical building while it undergoes a renovation.

Find out more about this project on the artist's website.
