US artist Angela Deane has been working on an ongoing series of “Ghost Photographs” since 2012.
In this project, she explores the human condition of having memories by painting white ghastly silhouette with black eyes over the human subjects in old photographs that she has found.
These people are transformed into anonymous “ghosts”, allowing viewers to create a memory and experience of their own—through this, the artist explains that “the ghosts become us and we become the ghosts”.
