Brilliant Typographic Posters Present World Cup's Teams History As Score Cards

If you need a quick overview of how each team fared in the last 84 years of the World Cup's history, New York graphic designer Criswell Lappin has made it easy—he has created "World 32", a series of typographic posters stating detailed information about each team that is qualified for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The posters for each country were designed in their “basic national colors and crystal clear Helvetica”—at one glance, viewers are able to know “the year of the team's first appearance, number of wins, draws, losses, goals scored, and goals other teams have scored against it”.

Inspired by the baseball cards that has stats of his favorite players on the back, he wanted to “create a project at the intersection of sports data and design” and reckoned that soccer would be a better sport to work with, as compare to baseball that has an overwhelming “wealth of stats”.

What do you think of this series—we think that it is both informative and eye-pleasing.
