Mesmerizing Digital Collages Of Birds Flying In Formation

Seattle-based creative Shaun Kardinal recently created a series of digital collages titled ‘Flying Formation’, featuring mesmerizing shots of birds flying in formation.

They were created using images taken from Google searches and friends’ Facebook and Instagram feeds.

Kardinal decided to exhibit them on Instagram as part of an experiment to re-think his engagement in his work, and to explore other avenues of presenting it.

While parked at his favorite bar, he posted an image to Instagram every ten minutes over a period of two hours, using filters and editors to add finishing touches before uploading them. He then observed the activity on his account as people commented and ‘liked’ his posts.

At the end of the experiment, Kardinal declared himself satisfied, citing a new-found connection to his art and the community.
